Book Review for Catching Fire

If you have read my last post you will see that I loved the first book in this series called the Hunger Games. The second book starts off where the last one finished. It talks about Katniss’s return to district 12 and how she and Peeta are coping with being back in district 12. They are now under the watchful eye of the capital and start to see more and more peacekeepers in town. Katniss’s and Peeta’s rebellion did not sit well with President Snow and now Katniss may be paying the price.

This book deals with the consequences of Katniss’s rebellion and also the changing tide in the districts. Talk of possible uprising and rebellion comes out. The capital forces Katniss and all the other champions from past Hunger Games back into the ring. This sends shockwaves to all of the districts and this act shows that the capital is still in control over the districts. This second book deals more with the love triangle of Katniss, Gayle and peeta plus the issues of a possible rebellion.

I found this book just as good as the first one a bit slower in the beginning but then you get caught up again in the story. I am now reading the last of this series Mockingjay and will follow with another book review.

So far this series does not disappoint and I highly give it four stars! If you liked the first one you will enjoy the characters again in the second and third book of the series.
