Skylark Snowkissed Cashmere Eye Shadow Palette– A Product Review

Skylark Eye Shadow Palette

Elle and Blair Fowler are two sisters who are two of the most popular beauty gurus on Youtube. They started their Youtube careers four years ago in their bedrooms. Armed with their cameras and imaginations they did hundreds of beauty tutorials, reviews and Youtube tags to their ever growing fan base.

Today Blair Fowler, better known as (Juicystar07) has over 1.1 million followers and Elle Fowler her sister(allthatglitters21) has over 850,000 Youtube followers. For two sisters this Youtube career has taken off and opened a whole new world of opportunities. In the summer of 2012 the girls launched their fist book Beneath the Glitter and now their beauty makeup line Skylark. In this blog I will be doing a product review for their holiday eye shadow palette called Snowkissed Cashmere.

The Snowkissed Cashmere Eye Shadow Palette is offered by Elle and Blair Fowler on Blush.com. The palette retails for $40.00 and comes with six eye shadows, one cheek highlighter and one double ended makeup brush. The palette colors are:

  • Satin Sparks Highlighter — sparkling peach (0.2 oz.)
  • Ember Eye Shadow — deep red/cranberry (0.07 oz.) Shiver Eye Shadow — deep, shimmery blue (0.07 oz.)
  • Nutmeg Eye Shadow — frosty brown/purple (0.07 oz.)
  • Pinecone Eye Shadow — bronzy brown (0.07 oz.)
  • Blitzen Eye Shadow — shimmery golden beige (0.07 oz.)
  • Lace Eye Shadow — soft satin creamy beige (0.07 oz.)
  • Dual-Ended Eye Shadow Brush

The kit also comes with three makeup tutorial cards on the side that highlight three different makeup looks that you can create. The kit arrives nicely packaged with two samples from Dermastore ( part of Blush.com) a lip quencher and a sample of an anti-wrinkle cream.

First impressions, Blush.com took over ten days to deliver this product. I assume this is due to the Cyber Monday rush and the shear popularity of this brand and product. The palette is in a silver hard cover case that is meant to replicate the “cushioned pillow” or what I call the “Chanel Look”. The case is very nice with the silver cushioned design and has a nice deep navy, satin ribbon on the front with the Skylark Logo in silver.

The outside case is very thick and has a nice magnet clasp that helps to keep your makeup securely in place. I really liked this packaging and that feature especially. When you open up the box, you see a very pretty feminine mirror that has the Skylark logo and a patterned design on the sides.

The eye shadow and highlighter section is very nicely laid out and the colors are very vibrant and pigmented. The feel of the eye shadows has a very nice satin feel to them and you can tell they are high quality. I did the everyday neutral eye that required the use of Lace, Pinecone and Nutmeg. Those colors glide onto your face and they shine and feel very smooth. The eye shadows do not over clump or crumble away when you use them, as they do with cheaper quality products. The highlighter has a very nice shine to it and goes over very nicely on application. My favorite product in the palette is the high quality double ended brush. This was a nice surprise that was easy to use in conjunction with the eye shadow palette.

All in all I give this a ten out of ten on the scale of packaging, quality, expectations and usability. The price of $40.00 I find to be in the moderate range in the prices of most beauty products. Time will tell how long the product will last but for now I am very very happy and pleased with this product. The Fowler girls did a great job on their eye shadow palette considering this was their first one. I highly recommend this product to any beauty inclined person or as a wonderful gift for someone. You can find this product on www.blush.com.
