Today we embark on lesson number 8, the Magic Ingredient. This lesson centers around being thankful and grateful for the food and water in our lives and the nourishment that it provides to our bodies each day.
So many people in third world countries and even in America do not have food or water on a daily basis, so giving thanks daily is something that we need to do.
There is also a long process on how we receive our food and water. We simply drive to the store and pick up our weekly groceries. Never thinking of the farmers in the field, how they grow and care for the crops of fruits and vegetables. How the drivers drive the food in trucks to the stores and how the store clerks stock the shelves.
We take for granted the fresh, clean and safe water in bottles nicely stocked on the store shelf. So many people walk miles to wells to fill buckets of water. That most of the time is not clean and then walk back miles to their homes to have it for their families. Most of us do not grow or even supply our own food, so we must be thankful for the food conveniently provided to us.
Magic Lesson number 8- the Magic Ingredient:
1.) Make a list of ten blessings that you are grateful for, write why you are grateful for each one. Say out loud the magic words “thank you” three times and feel gratitude for each one.
2.) Throughout the day, before you eat or drink anything. Take a moment to look at your food or drinks. Say thank you for your food and the blessing of having food or water in your body. Say the magic words, “thank you” and feel the gratitude for them.
3.) Before you go to bed at night, take your magic rock in your hands and say “thank you” for the best thing that happened for you that day. Reflect on it, and give thanks.
